Winter Walk - South Downs to Ditchling

South Downs
HF Holidays, 01 December 2011
A perfect winter’s walk with panoramic views from the top of the South Downs in England’s newest National Park.  From the tiny village of Clayton climb up the downs to see the two famous windmills, Jack and Jill, before joining the South Downs Way to Ditchling Beacon, the highest point on the downs at 813 feet where fires were lit to warn of the Spanish Armada in 1588.

The views are amazing out to sea and across the Weald before descending into the attractive Sussex village of Ditchling for well earned refreshment.  This walk is 6 miles long with 700 feet of ascent.
